collection of leaves (from home garden)of different sizes and shapes was done by 7th standard students as an assignment. This data and specimens can further be used to prepare herbarium.

Very nice. Here students got the chance to understand the diversity among the plants they have in their surrounding. If it was just taught theoretically, the students might not have understood it very clearly but practical way of explanation especially where the students are involved in collecting the leaves, it will help them to retain the knowledge for a longer period of time.
Main objective behind giving ths activity as assignment was to make students aware about the diversity among plants in the surrounding.
